CHEN Xiaoxun is a research fellow and senior engineer of Dongfeng Motor Corporation. He was elected as the executive director of the 8th Executive Board of CSICE in 2016, and became a member of Editorial Board of CSICE and the director of the 8th Executive Board of Gasoline Engine and Gas Engine Sub-society of CSICE in 2017.

He graduated with bachelor degree from Huazhong Institute of Technology in 1987. He was sent to America by Ministry of Machinery Industry of China to visit scientists of the Chemical Engineering Department of Academy of Science of Ford Motor Company and University of Michigan-Dearborn in 1998. And he was sent to Germany by State Bureau of Machine Building Industry of China to attend the motor emission regulation authentication technology communication and training in Emission Authentication Department of Volkswagen in Wolfsberg and Rheinland Company in Essen in 1999. He is now the vice director of the Technology Center of Dongfeng Trucks, the chief engineer of engine technology, the director of Engine Technology Committee of Dongfeng Motor Corporation, and the vice president of Hubei Society for Internal Combustion Engines. He is also invited by Ministry of Science and Technology of China to evaluate scientific and technological achievement and international cooperation. And he was once the vice director of Environmental Protection Sub-society of China Society of Automotive Engineers, and an expert in national quality recall evaluation. He is mainly engaged in researching, developing and promoting new motor engine technologies, new products, application engineering and so on.

He has done research in diesel engine combustion flame radiation spectrum, optical fiber sensing technology, multi-cylinder mixed gas distribution uniformity and so on. He has built the first Chinese emission authentication test system of the first batch of diesel engine in steady state cycle and dynamic cycle. He has participated in the planning and organizing of many major international engine technology cooperation projects and has completed research and development of many diesel engine and key technologies of the strategic development projects of Dongfeng Motor Corporation. In addition, he has organized and promoted the development and application of the construction of engine combustion development technology, test and analysis technology, electronic control system development technology, matching optimization technology, and emission technology system of Dongfeng Trucks.

He has won 5 Provincial Awards for Scientific and Technological Progress, including two first-class awards. In addition, he has published over 30 academic reports and papers and has been granted over 20 national invention patents by countries such as China, America and Japan and so on. He has won Shi Zhaoxi Science and Technology Education Achievement Awards and CSICE Annual Outstanding Contribution Awards, and honors including Outstanding Young and Middle Aged Scientist of Wuhan, the candidate of Ten, Hundred and Thousand Talents Project of Wuhan, and the State Council Special Allowance Expert.
