LIU Fushui, professor of Beijing Institute of Technology(BIT), was elected as the executive director of Chinese Society for Internal Combustion Engines(CSICE) in 2016, and was appointed as the member of Editorial Board of CSICE and the chairmen of Predictive Design and Intelligent Manufacturing Sub-society of CSICE in 2017.

LIU Fushui obtained his master degree from BIT in 1986 and doctoral degree of Engineering from Brandenburg Technology University Cottbus(BTU) in Germany in 2004. He is now a secondary professor of BIT, member of academic committee, vice director of Faculty of Machinery and Transportation, and academic leader of engineering thermophysics subject. Besides, he has lots of other social titles including member of Vehicle Power Group of Scientific and Technological Committee of the Central military Commission, executive director of China Energy Society, director of China Hydrogen Society, and member of Combustion Sub-society of Chinese Society of Engineering Thermopgysics and so on. He is mainly dedicated in research in overall design of internal combustion engine vehicles, combustion and simulation, hydrogen power and other fields.

He has completed a National High-tech R&D Program (863 program) of China,i.e. The “Technology Development of Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine with High Efficiency and Low Emissions” which developed the first hydrogen fuel internal combustion engine and the first hydrogen fuel internal combustion engine vehicle in China. In addition, he has also completed , a Key Basic Research Project (973 Program) of China, i.e. the“Study of High Density Combustion and Coupling Heat Dissipation” which put forward control method “Forced Plume Combustion”solving the problem of deterioration of heavy duty diesel engine combustion in plateau. He has developed the first Atkinson cycle gasoline engine in China for Changan Cooperation, and a series of diesel engines for Yunnei Group. As the chief designer, he has leaded a cross-industry team who developed the first two-stage-turbocharged, integrated electronically-controlled, highly-strengthened military diesel engine in China, invented the “V” mode prediction design method based on simulation technology, and discovered a new industry-university-research cooperation path by combining theoretical research and engineering development.

He has won a National Award for Scientific and Technological Progress (second class), five Provincial Awards for Scientific and Technological Progress, has published over 160 academic papers in important academic magazines home and abroad, has been granted over 30 National Natural Patents, and has won many honorary titles including New Century Talents granted by Ministry of Education, Outstanding Teachers of Beijing, Teacher’s Moral Examples of Beijing, National Government Special Fund Experts and so on.
