ZHANG Shuyong, research fellow, is the chief scientist of the weapon industry of China and the vice president of China North Engine Institute. He was elected as the vice president of Chinese Society for Internal Combustion Engines(CSICE) in October, 2016.

He graduated from Beijing Agricultural Mechanical College in July, 1983 with a bachelor degree majoring in internal combustion engines. And he obtained his engineering master degree majoring in vehicle engineering in Beijing Institute of Technology in October, 2002.

He has held the post from the deputy director of the laboratory, the deputy chief engineer, the chief engineer to the vice president since he joined in China North Engine Institute. He is the standing director and vice president of CSICE, and a member of Tank Armor Vehicle and Power Group of Equipment Development Department of People‘s Republic of China Central Military Commission. He has won many first-class or second-class National Scientific and Technological Progress Awards, and first-class National Defense Science and Technology Awards. He has been granted Special Allowance by the Chinese government, and he has won the honor of Young and Middle Aged Experts with Outstanding Contribution in National Defense Science and Technology Industry, the National Excellent Scientific and Technological Workers, Labor Model of Central Enterprises and so on.
