Academician Jin Donghan, the Chief Editor of CICEE, has been elected as the president of the new council of CIMAC on the 2018 autumn council of CIMAC!
On October 30th and 31th, 2018, the autumn board meeting and council of CIMAC were held successively in Frankfurt, Germany. With the recommendation of the board and vote from the representatives of member countries of the council, Jin Donghan, the current Vice-President of CIMAC, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, President of CSICE, Party Committee Secretary and President of Shanghai University, Chief Editor of CICEE, was elected as the president of new council of CIMAC.
He is the first Chinese to have become the president of CIMAC in the over 70 years since the foundation of CIMAC.

Jin Donghan is the president of CSICE, Party Committee Secretary and President of Shanghai University, research fellow, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, vice president of the council of CIMAC, president of 27th CIMAC Congress, vice president of Shanghai Association for Science and Technology(SAST), chairman of Evaluation Committee for National Defense Science and Technology Award in Ship Industry, and evaluation expert for State Science and Technology Award, director of academic committee for National Engineering Research Center for Offshore Wind Power, member of 11th CPPCC, representative of the 12th National People’s Congress, and the alternate member of the 18th and 19th Central Committee of CPC.
He has been dedicated in research and application development of new engine and power system, and has host over 20 key researching and engineering projects including Shanghai Science and Technology Key Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Defense Pre-research Foundation, Advanced Technology Demonstration and Verification and Major Model Development. He has achieved a variety of pioneering achievement which has already been applied in important projects. He is the pioneer of the area of new engine and power system. He has won a National Award for Scientific and Technological Progress (special class), and a National Award for Science and Technological Progress (first class), three Provincial Award for Scientific and Technological Progress (first class) and four other awards. He has published a monograph and over 30 academic papers. He has won Young Science and Technology Award of China, Yong Science and Technology Innovation Award, National Labor Medal，the title of National Outstanding Scientific and Technical Workers, Ho Leung Ho Lee Award for Scientific and Technological Progress, and the honor of Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality. His teams have won honors including Shanghai Model Worker Group for several times and have been recognized by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China(CCCPC), State Council and Central Military Committee of the Communist Party of China.
