From November 9th to 11th, 2018, the 2018 World Internal Combustion Engine Congress was successfully held in Wuxi Citym Jiangsu Province, China. The congress was co-sponsored by the Chinese Society for Internal Combustion Engines and the Wuxi Municipal People's Government. The China Association for Science and Technology ,the China Academy of Engineering and the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government were the guiding units of the congress.
Wan Gang (Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Zhi Gong Party) delivered a video message.
Academician Ma Weiming (Vice Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology), Xiang Changle (member of the Party Committee of the China Association for Science and Technology and Secretary of the Secretariat), and Chen Xingyu (Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province) attended the meeting.
Jin Donghan (Chairman of the Chinese Society for Internal Combustion Engines), Li Xiaomin (Member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Wuxi Municipal Party Committee), Xu Jin (Deputy Director of the First Engineering Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Engineering), and Yang Yichang (Deputy Director of the Equipment Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) delivered speeches.
He Guangyuan (former Minister of Machinery Industry, Honorary Chairman of China Internal Combustion Engine Society), Zhang Ping (President of China Internal Combustion Engine Industry Association), Peter Müller-Baum (Secretary General of International Combustion Engine Society), Li Jun (Chairman of China Automotive Engineering Society), Prof. Gautam Kalghatgi (Visiting Professor of Oxford University, Aramco Chief Scientist), Li Shufu ( Chairman of Geely Holding Group), and, Mr. Seeb (executive director of Mazda Automobile Co., Ltd.) made a keynote report.
During the congress, Academician Cao Xianghong of China Petrochemical Corporation, General Manager Qian Hengrong of Engine Division of FAW Jiefang Business Department, Dr. Marko Dekena, Vice President of AVL, President Huang Zhen of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Academician Su Wanhua of Tianjin University, Dr. Peter, Vice President of FEV Heuser, Mr. Jiang Xuefeng, deputy chief engineer of Dongfeng Group Co., Ltd., and Timothy Johnson, technical director of Corning, USA, made keynote speeches respectively. More than 380 well-known experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from home and abroad attended the conference, including 35 Chinese and foreign academicians. This is the highest level and most comprehensive "Olympic" event in the international internal combustion engine industry.
