Introduction to CSICE
Chinese Society for Internal Combustion Engines(CSICE) was founded in March,1981 with the approval of China Association for Science and Technology(CAST). CSICE is a national academic non-profit social organization which was founded by national scientific and technical worker volunteers in internal combustion engine industry. CSICE is a social organization legal person.
CSICE is the bridge and tie between Communist Party of China, Chinese government. and scientific and technical workers. It is also the important social power for scientific and technological development of internal combustion engine industry. It is also a group member of CAST.
CSICE is a scientific and technical mass organization which crosses departments, industries and regions and keeps wide horizontal contact with 14 related industries. The number of CSICE member is now over 15000 and CSICE members are from 28 provinces of which 19 provinces or cities have founded local branches. CSICE has 13 sub-societies and an editorial committee which hold annual academic exchange activities regularly. The general society and sub-societies hold a general election every 5 year.
CSICE entered the International Council on Combustion Engines(CIMAC) and China became CIMAC member country in April, 1982. CSICE hold the 18th International Congress on Combustion Engines in Tianjin in June, 1989, and hold Sigma Day, the International Academic Symposium on Internal Combustion Engines, and the International Exhibition on Internal Combustion Engines in Shanghai in 1999. CSICE hold the 27th International Congress on Combustion Engines with the approval of state department in Shanghai in May, 2013. Academician Jin Donghan, chairman of CSICE, was elected as the vice chairman of the executive board of CIMAC in June, 2016. He is the first Chinese member to enter the executive board of CIMAC, which indicates the improvement of China’s status in international combustion engine circles
Since 2004, CSICE have been holding Two Conference One Exhibition, i.e. academic annual meeting, International Internal Combustion Engine Academic Symposium, and International Internal Combustion Engine Exhibition in every March. And in every October, in different cities of China, the joint academic annual meeting is hold by sub-societies of different branches and of different regions.
To encourage the scientific and technical workers in ICE industry and to promote the progress and contribution in ICE industry, CSICE evaluates and grants Outstanding Contribution Award and Shi Zhaoxi Talent Award once every year, and issue Contribution Award once in each session of the executive board. In addition, CSICE evaluates, issues and awards excellent academic papers and popular science works in annual meeting and joint annual academic meeting of CSICE.
