Abstract:Based on a certain medium speed marine diesel engine and its current configuration status, experimental data testing and the GT-Power one-dimensional simulation calculation methods were used to study the effects of different valve cam profiles, exhaust pipe diameters, and turbocharger configurations on the pumping loss and fuel consumption rates. Some prototypes were implemented according to the optimization solutions, and the results were verified through development experiments. The results show that by optimizing matching, the pumping loss and fuel consumption rates under high speed and load operating condition, even low speed and load operating condition can be reduced to the optimal level.
