Abstract:In view of the sealing leakage problem of the bowl plug, the pressure fitting test was designed and verified with finite element calculation. The relationship between the sealing quality of the cone interference seal of the bowl plug and the structural parameters of the bowl plug was specifically explored and analyzed through the simulation calculation based on the ANSYS and the two-dimensional model, through the mutual verification of the press fitting test and the finite calculation. The results show that the maximum pressure on the sealing surface decreases with the increase of the radius of the bowl plug and increases with the increase of the thickness of the bowl plug. Based on different interference amounts, the interference sealing states can be divided into three stages, i.e., upper edge line sealing, stable surface sealing and lower edge sealing. For the D75 bowl plug, the optimal interference amount range is 0.10~0.14 mm when the taper is 1∶20. The larger the taper, the larger the optimal interference amount range. Based on this, various specifications of bowl plugs were changed to a taper of 1∶10, and the interference amount range and sealing pressure were optimized. Besides, a curved surface sealing form was proposed that can increase sealing pressures and improve pressure distributions.
