Abstract:An online measurement method of piston assembly friction force based on wireless measurement of connecting rod force was developed. The principle of friction measurement and the wireless measurement scheme of connecting rod force were presented. On the basis of calibration and verification of the measurement system, the online measurement of piston assembly friction force under operating conditions of a high-power diesel engine was conducted. The results show that the developed measurement method has high accuracy and can capture the change of piston assembly friction during engine operation with a good consistency, which can provide experimental support for the design of piston assemblies with low friction in engines.
