Abstract:Based on a hybrid power vehicle, the effects of coolant temperatures, initial injection phases, battery states of charge(SOC) and vehicle operation cycles on oil dilution were analyzed by engine bench tests and chassis tests. The results show that the coolant temperature is the primary factor for oil dilution, and the initial injection phase is the secondary factor. When the coolant temperature is below 50 ℃, the oil dilution ratio is relatively high. However, the oil dilution ratio is low when the initial injection phase is about 325° before top dead center. Oil dilution may also be deteriorated by the case of short engine run time or short vehicle distances when the ambient temperature is below 0 ℃. At the same time, when the SOC of battery is about 37%, the oil dilution ratio is relatively high. And when the SOC is about 15%, the oil dilution ratio is relatively low. An oil dilution monitor model has been put forward to evaluate oil dilution rate, and the accuracy of the model has been verified in vehicle chassis tests and real road tests. |
