Abstract:Under the elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) of an eccentric cam-sapphire disk contact, surface energy gradient of the disk was prepared to form an oleophilic track with enhanced replenishment. The EHL film thickness and oil reservoir dis-tribution in the eccentric cam-disc contact area under limited lubricant supply were obtained by the optical interference lu-bricating oil film measurement system, and the influence of oleophilic track on the lubrication of the contact was ana-lyzed. The results showed that the tension-driving induced by the disk surface energy gradient enhances the lubricant replenishment and increases the central film thickness of the contact zone. and the regulation effect of oleophilic track makes the inlet oil reservoir expand 1.6-4.7 times at low speed and light load. At low rotation speed and light load. The oleophilic track showed a remarkable effect on regulating the distribution of lubricant. Lubricant of high viscosity will decrease lubricant replenishment in ole-ophilic track. The oleophilic track could improve the lubrication state of different oils.The effect of oleophilic track is different under different oils.
