Abstract:In order to improve the accuracy of engine head and block metal thermal analysis, a thermal analysis method based on the in-cylinder combustion analysis was put forward. First, the in-cylinder combustion analysis was performed to research convections according to the engine calibration. Then, the water jacket flow analysis was done to evaluate heat transfer coefficient. Next, the friction between piston rings and liner and the conduction between piston and liner were taken into account. Finally, the head and block thermal analysis was done based on the above thermal boundary conditions. The result shows that with the proposed method the head and block temperature ranges and distributions are very reasonable, and the temperatures show good consistency at the monitor points in the simulation and test.
