Abstract:Torsional vibration damper with plate spring is an important part of high power diesel engines, which plays an important role in reducing vibration and crankshaft torque, and the stiffness and strength of springset are the decisive indicators of damping effect and working reliability of dampers. Based on the Bernoulli-Euler beam model, the calculation formulas of torsional stiffness and bending stress of a diesel engine torsional vibration damper with plate spring were deduced, and the relevant calculation procedures and calculation tools were prepared, providing a calculation tool for the design and use of damper. Moreover the finite element analysis scheme and calculation steps of torsional stiffness were given, and the accuracy of the mechanical model and calculation formula were verified. On this basis the influence of the parameters such as the size of the copper gasket and the thickness of the spring on stiffness and strength was studied, which laid the foundation for future design and application of torsional vibration dampers.
